i just bought a 1 inch blue phantom pleco
couple of questions:

how old will it be?
how big do they grow?
ive got a bigger tank on the way which will home him and my clown loaches
how do you sex them?

why did you buy it if you dont know about it?

It'll get to 8" - a 1" specimen will be very young and quite sensitive...

what did you pay for him?

how did i know you would answer :D

£30

he was my birthday present from my brother in law

I have an L128 too
he is doing great, mine was around 1.5" when purchased and hasn't grown that much. I would call this pleco a slow grower, so you have plenty of time to get that bigger tank.

I can't find any reference online to a max age or sexing, but who cares it is a stunning fish.

not a fan of the camara much he sits in the perfect photo position till you get the camara out then he hides

lol, tell me about it.

here is one of the very few I've managed to take of mine.
seen here with an A.adonis

We have an L200 which is a green colour variant of the same species (Green Phantom or Lemon Spotten Green Plec)

Ours was excessivly shy for the first six months but now seems to be more confident and can often be seen attacking bloodworm at the front of the tank.

Russ, that pic you've posted looks rather like my new plec, which we suspect is an L030/031.

Confused now!
