Hi all,

Was in my lfs yeaterday and they have a lot of new stock. Anyway i was looking around and they had a tank of small blue lobsters. I was very tempted but thought i would ask you lot first. Am i going to have problems if i add one? I have had shrimp in the tank but they either get eaten or die.

My tank is 40 gallons and my stock is Danios, walking catfish, talking catfish, platys, plec, fighters, spotted gourami, red shark, clown loaches, tiger barbs.

Some people say they are a problem and will eat all the fish , some say they are o.k as long as they are fed well.

What do you all think.

I would not risk it if I were you, most of your fish you list are bottom dwellers and as such, would come into contact alot with the BL. Not only that, but their food preferences would be similar, so there would be fights over food, undoubtably leading to nipping. Remember BL's in the wild eat small fish, so you would be really ringing the dinner bell. Now if you had a tank of Hatchetfish, or other exclusively top dwellers you might be able to get away with it.
