iv heared that you need to a licence to own a blue lobster in the uk and the shop needs a licence to sell them, is this true??

I've not heard of a licence requirement for lobsters.
many so called blue lobsters are illegal period, in the uk
Paul_MTS knows more about this than I.

because numpties put them in rivers and ponds.
they can survive our winters and overrun our native species of crayfish,
which is on a decline if not already endangered.

but why do they sell these crays then, there in the same temperature range of all the other species of blues.

I like that word numpties. The problem is that many people who own aquariums and then either decide they don't want one anymore, or, purchase livestock that overgrows their system, will dump their aquarium contents into a river, lake or stream. Animals or plants that do not normally exist there but have an environamental advantage over other inhabitants in that ecosystem, will take over the area.

Case in point: not far from my home is what once was a beautiful lake. It is now turned into a swamp after being recently overrun by cabomba, a plant indigenous to South America. Someone apparently dumped their aquarium plants in there and it took over the lake. If cut or dredged, pieces will regrow and it will be virtually impossible to eradicate. SH

i know what your saying, but the legal redclaw crayfish is LEGAL and is in the same temperature range as the other blue lobsters that are ILLEGAL, why is the red claw legal?

Hi,
My local river is crawling with american crayfish that carry a disease that they are immune to. Though are native crayfish succumb to the disease very easily. Also the american crayfish depletes fish stock and plants etc. However put a piece of string with meat on in the river and fish them out. You won't get all of them but just clean them in cold water then chuck them in a pan of boiling water. Leave them in until red then eat as though you would eat lobsters. Remember to remove the intestinal tract  . But, when all is done they taste just like mini lobsters delicious.
Thanks
