Blue Lobster Hybination

recently my blue loabster retreated in to his cave closed all the exits up with gravel plants etc. and then stayed there for about 4 days hes now reappeared opened all his exits and is normal as anything

anyone got any ideas what he my have been doing

I'm betting your crayfish might have molted. The two times I've seen crayfish hide other than when sick or dying are when they molt, or when a female is ready to release her eggs. To see if a molt might be the answer, look where it was hiding, see if you find claws or the top carapace lying around. Those are the only parts they usually don't eat.
