In the aquarium, small pieces of clam meat or tablets can be placed under the starfish.

Looking into getting one of these guys... I'd like to give it tablets as clam meat is probly a little harder come by I'm guessing. Will my local fish store carry tablets like these? Or will I have to order them online? If so where ? :p

Anyone have any experience with blue linkia sea star and maybe would like to share information ? :) Also curious if they eat algea too.

I have blues and reds. Sadly noone knows exactly for sure what these starfish need in their diet. The basics is easy enough yet some linkas will presish after a few months when being fed the appropriate diet yet some linkas will thrive on the same food. The only thing i can think if is that these starfish require something either in the water (they are extremly sensative to water conditions) or something growing naturally in the tank that some other tanks dont have.

Sorry if this is a bit vague, i had better success with the reds than i did with blues but essentiually i lost them both within 12 months :(

So, should I suppliment its diet with anything or just put it in and let it go ? :p

by the way, thank you ver much for your help

Feel free to experiment with any food the starfish seems willing to take. I would target feed it and watch it closely to make sure it accepts the food. If it leaves it and moves on then remove the food immediately so it wont contaminate the water.
