Hi
i have a blue knight lobster which i thought was fully grown at 22cm but i came home yeasterday to find that it had shed again and this morning it came out and its freaking huge !!
i would estimate that its width has grown by 1.5cm and its new length (at a guess) 26cm but more noticingly its claws are huge !!
i am getting a little worried as its in a 220 litre community tank (no it has not eaten any fish!!) i find that if i keep it well fed it doesnt even bother my other fish, but if was to grow any larger i will have to get another tank for it as it would be too much for the tank.
if anyone else has or is keeping these and has any idea on how large they get in an aquarium ???

I'm not sure of the species but in Australia we measure crayfish from the tip of the head to the start of the tail. We don't include the tail or claws in the size of the crayfish.
Most fish and crustaceans will continue to grow for as long as they live. They usually slow down as they get older but whenever they shed their shell they will end up a little bigger. If you keep them long enough they can grow bigger than the recommended size.
