I was researching web sites to hunt down the true identity of my pl*co and found a few that list Blue Eyed Pl*co for $399.99. Is this true, are they really this expensive????

There are two species of blue-eye plecs, one is rare, (Panaque cochliodon) and one is nearly extinct is (Panaque suttoni) due to destruction of habitat.

We had a 9-inch Panaque cochliodon called Micky Blue-Eyes up to a year ago which originaly cost us only £50 from a store which didn't know what it had, but you can expect any Panaque suttoni that turn up in the hobby to sell for hundreds if not thousands.

Here's Micky:

Unfortunately we had to sell him when he became very aggressive towards his tankmates.

Yep  I spotted one advertised local not so long back and the guy wanted over £500 UK pounds for it!
yeh there was one on ebay a couple of weeks back up for £500 start bid, no body bought it though and they didn't specify a species.

Yeah I spotted that too and its the same guy.

That's amazing they cost that much, I payed $750 (US) for my whole set-up (including fish). If the blue Eyed Plec goes for $500 (UK), that would cost more then my tank. Wholly Crap!!!!!!!!! I guess I'll pass on one of those LOL
