Blue Eye Rainbow Fish

I wated to get some blue eye rainbows when my tank is cycled but every time i look in lfs the stock dont seem that good or am i looking at normal things. The things ive noticed are:

Loss of fins lengh or not there
funny shaped bodies that dont look like the pictures ive seen on web. Not stright lined fish shape but disformed somehow.

Is this because of inbreeding, transportation damage. Is it best to avoid these fish and only buy the ok looking ones or just keep waiting

You can buy these Rainbowfish on ebay where they are probably in good condition

Rainbows from many species look very bland and unusual as youngsters, compared to the adult forms. Pseudomugil furacta grow those "butterfly" fins as they mature, I believe, turning them into beautiful little fish

this fish body is straight and ones in lfs were like all twisted. I'm not sure on buying fish in post as how do i get ones that are in good condition. can i send them back.
