Does anyone know anything about blue danios?

Are they top-mid level swimmers or mid- bottom level?
Whats their maximum size?
Are they as active as the zebra danio?

What sort of conditions do they prefer?

Ive searches the net and forums but not found much.

Also are they readily available in most fish stores?

Paul.

Common names :/

The fish that most often gets called the "Blue Danio" is Brachydanio kerri, however, I have come across albolineatus, (Pearl Danio), aequipinnatus and malabaricus, (Giant Danios), devario, and even rerio, (Zebra) called "Blue Danios" before.

Pretty much all the Danios are top of the tank swimmers, most are very active. Genuine B. kerri grow a bit larger then many other Danios, can reach 4"/100mm but rarely do. They are easy to keep and feed. Not demanding in terms of pH or hardness, just avoid extremes, clean and well oxygenated. Like a lot of swimming space. Easy to breed like most Danios.

I've not seen any for sale for several years, but they turn up sometimes. Depends where you live and who is doing the importing.
