Hello

Currently I have one blue crayfish named Mr. Earl. The tank has no air pump and at the moment the water is only filled halfway. I was just wondering if I fill it to the top, will Mr. Earl drown?

Crayfish don't breathe air...... Having no air pump will not matter it merely helps with gas exchange and provided you have sufficient current at the surface that is a non-issue.

your Crayfish should be ok, though Cray do like an high O2 environment. normally a 20ukg tank is said to be the smallest for a Redclaw. (i am assuming a Reclaw as Blue lobster is one of its common names) if its an "electiric Blue cray" 10 ukg should be enough. i would suggest you fill the tank (not that the cray needs it, just it will be hard to keep a "half full" tank cycled. its normally said that a head of water should not be over 30cm, though a platform at that hight will suffice.

i have known people keep cray in "uncycled" tanks, but they need 100% water changes every two days. its also stressful to the cray to have to do this. so i would, strongly, advise a "cycled" tank. my redclaw do like to play in a bubble stream, so even though it does not, really, need it, an air stone my be a nice addition.
