Blue Crayfish

I just got an a bout 3 inch blue crayfish! I know they love algeawafers ect. but I also know they have a liking for livefood- he proved that by chomping up my little aquatic frog (dwarf). He luckily seems to completely ignore my ghostshrimp- thank god!

Anyhow, I would like to know if given live food like a frogf or a little goldfish which they love to catch- should I not give him any food the next day or does it not matter! I know Betta's do better when they get a day off from food, how is that with Crayfish after they had frsh meat vs. dry food pellets?

He's alone there with now one little Ghostshrimp in a 6 Gallon! My Aquatic Dwarf frog, used to live in there first but as mentioned, Blue got to him. I know that Blue crays like catching goldfish or other fishes that size that are slow enough- didn't expect him to want my frog- how naive of me 8lol*! Anyhow! It's just my 3 inch Bluecrayfish with one Ghostshrimp in a 6 Gallon- no real plants!

the majority of its diet should be made up of veg, a little on the ripe side is best. for protein, worms and snails, pellet and flake, even roast chicken will all go down well. they will catch fish, but only as a last resort. and it is not something they would, normally, do in nature.
