Blue Crayfish Problem

I was just now watching my crayfish mate (I'm a creep), they've been mating about 20 times and she's still not pregnant so I had to see what was up. Turns out about half way through the female pushes the male off. Is this normal? Is there anything I can do?

are you sure they are breeding and not fighting? Normally they breed immediately after the female moults. They also normally breed at night so if they are getting into it during the day they could be fighting.

No, they are definitely breeding. He's holding her claws down and everything.

You could try giving the female something to eat to occupy her. Thats what I did when I was trying to breed my praying mantis. It was more so done so the female didn't eat her mate, but it might work with crayfish
