Hi,

I have a Blue Channel Cat which is about 4inch long, I bought it too help clear up the Algae but now i'm told they eat anything they can fit into their mouth, even fish - which I thought was unusual for a cat. Anyway, I was wondering if anyone knows how fast they grow because I dont want my other fish in danger of being eat! :hyper:

Channels need a pond of 1000 liters to live out their days in. They are coldwater.
They will grow very fast, a couple of inches a month. I would either get a big pong dug or get the shop to take him back.

This fish is a giant. They get at least four feet long, and will eat everything in your tank that will fit in its mouth. they need a lot room, maybe even more than 1000 liters. A local store has a couple in a multi-thousand gallon tank. Also, they are native were I live, and yes they get huge in teh tank and in the river. it doesn't matter which.
