My blue acara and electric blue acara mated after putting them in my hospital tank. Has anyone ever seen this before or how they may color up? I have attached pics and yes I know the tank is kind of dirty as I haven't been able to do a deep clean because they have constantly had batches of fry for the past 2 months. All I can do it a light gravel cleaning and water change like I just did. Any info would be great. Would they be a hybrid, a blue acara, or electric blue?

Good job, electric blue will be a receive gene, so you will get mainly blues with about 10% electric blue. I think :)

Since they are the same species, they can't be called hybrids. The fry which look blue will be carrying the electric blue gene, so if you sell on any offspring I would still mention it.
