Hey guys,

When I left Finnigan, my office betta, on wednesday he was in perfect health. I'm off until tuesday and was going to bring him home with me but one of my co-workers volunteered to go into the office everyday for me to feed him as she lives a 5 minute walk away. Well, today I popped in to check on him and found his tail in complete tatters :-(

What can I do for him? Is there anything I can give him to help promote healing?

thanks!

If you aren't already using aquarium salt in your water, then I'd suggest doing so. And if you can find a product called Blackwater Extract, then that should help, too. Both, I've noticed, speed up new fin growth.

try using a product called melafix. it works wonders on raggedy fins. it has really helped my bettas' fins that were torn during an unfortunate fight they had when one jumped the tank divider.

also, salt dipping helps a lot, too.

Be CAREFUL with MelaFix - you must use it only at 1/5 of the dose it says on the bottle for bettas!
