Total beginnesr question: I have seen bloodworms being sold in see through plastic bags at my lfs. The bags have some water in them, where the bloodworms swim. How many of these do I put in the tank? Or can I put the whole bagfull of them into my tank? How long do they live in the plastic bag/tank?

At the moment I only have 1 common pleco (4 inches long), and later on this week I'll be getting 1-2 eels, which will be about 8" in length.

Help??

Hi,
Pour the bag of bloodworm into a fine mesh net and rinse under a cold running tap for a few seconds then empty the net containing the worms into your tank.

Thanks BigC. How long do the bloodworms live in the water, if the fish won't eat them straight away?

They will live a little while in temperate water, but don't be too disheartened if your fish do not eat them straight away, like everything else a fish will not go for food it's not used to sometimes. If you keep offering bloodworm every now and again then they will become accustomed. Don't forget to remove any uneaten food (or in your case dead bloodworm) before it fouls the tank water.
