I fed my platies and guppies some bloodworms from a bag that I keep in the freezer. I let it thaw a bit and then put a little bit in the tank. Next day, everyone was covered in ick and and something that looked like white snowflakes. I had cleaned their tank the day before and the water params. were fine. The bloodworms were the only thing that I did out of the ordinary. So... two questions. Could the bloodworms have given the fish ick? What is the white snowflaky stuff that appeared with the ick on a couple of my guppies?

All responses will be greatly appreciated!!!

I have heard of this from live food but never frozen. I am not sure if the parasite could live through the freezing even in the cyst stage. Perhaps others here could add more insight into this. Seems strange that it happened right after the feeding, so you would think it was definitely related. As for the snowflae stuff it could be just an area of the fish with many cysts together.
