Are bloodworms really red mosquito larvae as it says on the front of the package? If so, are they similar to white mosquito larvae? What's the difference (in terms of if the fish will like it as much)?

My young albino corys can't eat the bloodworms. They keep spitting it out and trying to eat it again. They drain the worms of their color, so they're getting some of the nutrients, but I'd like to know how to make it more managable for them.

hmmm with my fry i used to get a realy sharp blade and scrape the frozen food so its like shavings... the thicker u want them the deeper u go....

try this maybe?

Can't say I own anything that sharp... What do you think about making the strands shorter? Mine are nearly half an inch long, so that's definitely part of the problem. it just seems like so much work to cut the food up if I can find a better way.

Grinding gelatinous substances isn't going to be easy, and will create a mess in the tank... Thanks for the help, though.

i didnt say it wouldnt be messy... and i didnt mean grind it down into a complete mush... maybe take a select few out and just crush them a bit?

wont they eat baby brine shrimp?

plus a few drops at a time wouldnt create much of a mess... not as much as hardboild crushed egg....

You're right. But that's ok. I've got other food for them, and they even seem to be happy with any flakes I toss in.
