Today I went to dump out what was left on the bottom of the bucket I used to catch what I vacuumed out of one of my tanks and noticed a red worm about the width of a hair and an inch long moving around. I know blood worms are fish food but didn't expect to see one alive. Is there anything I should be concerned about?

I consulted the internet, so I will just let the fish enjoy fresh blood worm :hyper: if there are anymore-filter is clean. I just planted several new plants which I had cleaned and let sit in a small tank for awhile. That would appear to be the source, I also found some snail egg/jellyo_O on one of the plants.

I got them in my filters 2 yeas ago. Midge flies got into my tanks and laid eggs. The larvae, which is the blood worm was enjoyed by my fish for about a month. Then the party was over.

it sounds like a tubifex or blackworm and is harmless. put it back in the tank and hope it breeds so the catfish, eels or loaches can eat it.
