how big do these guys get in inches

My blood parrot is several years old, and he's not even 6 inches... I don't think they get to be 12 inches...

I've seen one about 12 inches, in the display tank at the lfs.

ive read that they will get to 12 inches but it takes about 10 years LOL

Yes, but they still get that big, and if you're after one it will be a heck of a lot easier on the fish just to get a proper sized tank for all of its life to start with.

yeah i know but i never said i was getting one LOL . my friend has a two inch one in his 75 gallon and he wanted to know how big they get

I think the whole idea is that if he manages it to keep it alive for it's intended life span it will reach 8-12" long.

if he takes good care of it it will reach well over 12 in.
