There is something sticking out on the bottom side of my blood parrot. I had my suspicions that my blood parrot and oscar were attempting to mate. I don't know whether it is a male or female. It looks sort of like a clear/pink/orange tube. I am confused. :dunno:

That sounds like an ovipsitor (mispelled?) You know egg dropping tube. It should be about the color of the fish and fairly smooth. Sounds like a she to me. Good luck! :D

She just layed eggs in a little pot I have in my tank. I noticed she was in there all night when I came home and she wouldn't come out to eat so I thought something was wrong with her. I examined the pot and there are lots of tiny white eggs in the bottom of it.

What do I do now?

A few days after they hatch start feeding some sort of fry food. Other than that the parents will do the rest. Anything you do will just disturb them. Congrats on the eggs, hope they hatch! :D

are they parrot n oscar babies :)
if they are we need pics soon lol :p

Well I only have three fish in my 120 gallon. An oscar, a blood parrot and a bumblebee catfish. So yea, I am sure the oscar and blood parrot paired up.

i dont wanne upset you or anything, but.... if they are white there unfirtile meaning they wont hatch :(
if they are an orangey brown colour, they will hatch :)
hope this helps.

Oscars and bloodparrots are incompatible I'm afraid, so you'll never get fry out of them. Just leave the eggs, they'll eventually be eaten when the fish realise they aren't going to hatch :)

Hmm well I suppose that it is still good that they have paired up and will be very tolerant of each other as they grow older together.

Thanks for confirming that over a month after the fact, meepster.
