Blood Parrot Cichlid is man-made so i didn't know which room cause there is not "origin"

my question is....
what size tank does a Blood Parrot Cichlid need

is noone formiliar with the adorable Blood Parrot Cichlid?
i need to know what sized tank it needs (how many gallons)

I would say probably larger than a 20 to give it enough room to swim because I think they get to be somewhere around 8 inches. A 20 would probably be ok with one but might be too small. I won't keep them, man made fish are weak and usually end up dying quickly. Especially paint injected fish like the blood parrots. Non-painted parrot cichlids are usually longer lived than the paint injected blood parrot variety.

i don't like them at all, but i think they need at least 34gal :/

i'm not really sure though :look:

because i couldn't give you a straight answer, i went and found this website for you to browse

there is also a little bit of info here

20 gallons is too small, 30 is is enough for just one.
Blood parrots are not dyed, only the 'jelly bean' variety are, and the color wears of very quickly - but the effects, incuding stunted growth and short lives, do not.

All of the ones I have seen marked "Blood Parrot" are paint injected. I have seen noninjected labelled simply "parrot cichlids". It might be a regional thing to call them by different names. Although I am close to Canada so I would think it would be the same. Hmmm.... I dunno. Its easy to tell if they are injected though. The injected ink (usually a red or blue or other primary color) is in a blotch on the skin.
