I talked my friend into saving this poor little guy in the store who has a bloated belly, very large. But other than that and a mild case of fin rot. THe guy at the store (who called the fish a "round tail" even though it obviously was not a plakat  ) he said it was just overfed, but even when I overfeed my bettas at home, they'll only over eat on live bloodworms (not fed in that store btw) and their stomachs never get THAT big. How should she handle this?

*Edit* okay, I feel lame, I just figured out that he is probably consitpated. I've heard peas are good for this. How should she cook them? And just one pea right? And should she mash it up, or cut it up? Will they chew on bigger pieces or just eat bite size pieces?

Thank you for all the help!

Here's how I've been prepping my peas.

First of all, they're frozen. :) Take one out of the freezer and put it in a microwave-safe bowl with just enough dechlorinated water to cover it, then stick it in the microwave. I put them in for about 10 seconds on high with a really high-powered microwave. Then take the bowl out, put the pea in room-temperature dechlorinated water and let it cool. When it's about room temperature, remove the shell by compressing the pea, and let the innards fall into the Betta's tank. You can mash them up or cut them into small pieces if you want, but I never do. I usually compress the pea in such a way that it falls into the tank in 2 pieces, and that seems to work just fine.
