Just found this pic of my closed brain when I bought it..got it cheap as had been kept too high in a tank and was almost totally bleached....

Now several months later under more suitable lighting levels.....

If at the right price, these bleached specimens should be bought as they will pull back over time .
 
Was definately worth the risk of buying...quite a few on ur are hunting it down,lol..

They're a great group of corals and like their open cousins prefer dimmer lighting than most stoney corals and very suitable for most dimmer tanks. Under halides or a lot of tubes they are best placed down low and can even survive, when well fed, almost totally out of any light source. This can also cause them to lose a lot of colour intensity but .
 
Thanx ben..most corals, as long as still "fleshy", can normally be pulled back under more suitable conditions. Regularly see corals on forums showing signs of bleaching unfortunately.
 
Amazing, have seen that coral in your tank pictures several times and thought how nice it was, even better with a history like that and if you say they like dimmer lighting might even give one a try myself :good:
