Blanching?

Hi

I bought a Farlowella Acus over a week ago and all that i have seen it eat is Algea wafers.

I have tried feeding it zucchini but it doesnt seem to touch it. I have read that some people Blanch the zucchini first b4 feedin it to their fish.

What is to "blanch"? is that to boil?

Blanching is to plunge the vegetable into boiling water for a few seconds and then plunge it straight into cold water to stop it cooking any further, this softens the vegetable but doesnt destroy the vitamins and minerals.

My farlowella loves cucumber, just cut a slice off, poke a plant weight through it and drop it.

You could also try par boiling some sweet potato, my BNs love the stuff.

My pleco STILL wont touch the zuccini or cucumber i gave him!!! AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH soooo frustrated... loleyyy
