I was just wondering how long do you blanch corgettes before feeding them to oto's please?

And can they be put in the freezer?

Thanks :)

for my BNs i just whack it in the microwave for 20seconds and its perfect for them to eat. Not sure one freezing it ive never tried.

i used to in boiling water for 20 to 30 seconds at most
other wise it will fall to bits i used to blanch then in to cold water ice cold
yes i would say you can thats what we
do with marrow which is just Corgettes

I feed courgette to my snails. They only get one slice at a time so I freeze the rest, and it thaws out soft so it doesn't need blanching like fresh courgette does.
I cut the courgette into slices, then lay it out on a piece of greaseproof paper on a baking sheet and put that in the freezer. When the slices are frozen, I peel them off the paper (it's a bit tricky if you put them straight onto the baking sheet) then put them in a freezer bag till I use them. My thin slices thaw in a few minutes.

i like the idea of that think
i'll try it cheers :good:

all of that? i just throw in any tops/tails i've got from dinner...

We don't like courgette (well, my husband refuses to eat it), so I don't have any tops/tails to feed them on. I have to buy my snails a whole courgette just for themselves. The things some of do for our pets..........
