Just today I noticed Skylar; my white boy; has 2 small black spots on his body that weren't there before. They are about the size of a needle head, what could it be? He gets weekly water changes, so it wouldn't be bad water quality.
Thanks!

EDIT: Here are some photos... Don't mind the bubbles, we had a water change tonight.

He's white?? Probably has a marble background. My girl was a patriot, then suddenly some of her scale developed darker color. Now she's really marbly with lots of darker spots on her body.

Aw, what a pretty boy. My guess would be just a color change as well. It does appear that he may have some spots around his face as well. Maybe you'll just have to change his name to Pongo (from 101 Dalmations) :) If it is something to worry about someone here will post, I know it.

It's probably just his colouring. A lot of opaques get spots like that... Lil has a couple now, too ;)

Wow he's looking great Kara! Orion has a few dark blue scales scattered here and there. Your guy sure looks wonderful, so I'd guess it's colors too. Skylar's fins have really grown out from when I last saw him.

Judging by the way his face looks, I'd say it is just natural coloring changes.

Don't you just love posts that do nothing but repeat what someone else has already said. :D

To avoid being one of those, I will add a bit of humor...

Has he been sunbathing? I know I develop spots (freckles) when I get too much sun. :fun:
