Black smudge on my midas

When I woke up this morning I noticed a black smudge on the side of his head. I tried to rub it off and...nothing. It's doesn't feel like a splinter but it somewhat resembles one Almost looks like motor oil or tar smeered on him in a teeny tiny spot. Any ideas?

I had to push his head to the side because he wouldn't stop looking at the camera, he hates that thing

I was ganna say it looked like a bruise before someone else mentioned it in the pics forum. Doesn't look like anything I'd lose sleep over,wuv. He looks like a big tuff bugger.

it happens. every now and then my midas (plural) get black colorations. they usually disappear. midas and devils are always changing colors. how big is yours?

whew, I just wanted to hear somebody say it's nothing to freak out about,thanks! I gave him an extra water change yesterday, that's two this week and I cleaned out his filters, hooked him up with some ghost shrimp, now he's wondering what all the fuss is about, completely oblivious
