Black Slime ? Or Algae ?

after a battle against the good old green hair algae and also the odd out break of red algae on the rocks it looks as though i may be getting it into shape and along comes this black slime! ( i'll get a picture as soon as poss ), it was very small at first but has now spread over 2 rocks and doesn't look as though it' going to stop.! dam just when you think your getting on top of things, i'm doing my tests and there fine as ever, so i was thinking of a turkey baster and that i could try and remove as much as poss, it's ofocurse on the rock thats on the bottom of my tank isn't it ?

Chaps help me out again ?

I had this problem a little while ago, and I am still battling it, I made a post about it here. It doesn't say all that much about it, but it's helped me a little. good luck with it

man i was just reading that, it's kinda purple very dark so maybe it's really time to get some more powerheads and also some ROWAPHOS, guess i just put it off over the christmas, tut tut !

how can i remove it as it's on the base rock at the bottom of the tank and would mean shifting all the rock in the tank around !

stop feeding for a wile and get a good clean up crew. It will clear up in no time.
