Hi folks just need a bit of advice, hope i have put this in the correct topic heading.

I have just introduced a male and female black sailfin to my community tank.

I have noticed on the male there are a few white marks which stand out quite alot as they are black fish

I think these are scratches or nips however one of these marks is protruding out of the fish, just wondering if this is a damaged scale or a parisite, starting to worry a bit as all my fish are perfect and i dont want to infect the tank.

Please help with any advice.

Many thanks

I have been watching the male and he does not seem to be distressed, he is not rubbing himself like he has an itch, just acting normal, i am still worried, any one have black sailfins can help.

panic stations reaching max.

It sounds like he has ich. Does it look like little salt grains?

Are you keeping them in salt? They are more prone to these things when they aren't kept in salt.

And I'm moving your post to Emergencies, so you can get more help. :)

Yea it does look like a very small grain of salt it does not seem to be bothering the fish at all, could this infect the tank and my other fish?
If it is ich how do i get rid of it?

This fish in this tank are

6 Swordtails
2 Dalmatian Mollies
5 Harlequins
1 Pleck
2 Small catfish
2 Dwarf Gouramis
2 Perl Guouramis
2 Black Sailfins.

180 ltr tank.

Thanks in advance for your help.
