Black Phantom Tetra

I've had the past year what I believe are 2 male and 1 female black phantoms. Recently, I've noticed that one of the males has developed black coloring on the back half of his body where it was silver. He also likes to flair and will almost swim sideways when the male and female are near.

Is this a sign that he is moving into adulthood and looking for a mate? If so, has anyone had success breeding black phantoms?

I've not bred Phantoms, but have seen the behaviour you describe with them and yes, it is classic characin courtship/display ritual.
