My Black Phantom Tetras seem to hide alot. Im just wondering why?? Is it their natrual behavior or could it be due to the fact that there are 7 females and 1 male?? They are beautiful fish I just would like to see more of them!

When I first got my Black Phantom Tetras they were swimming at the back of the tank, behind the plants. If you got them not too long ago they just need a bit of time to get comfortable in your tank.

I have had them for nearly two weeks. I am thinking of getting a couple more males, hopefully that will increase their activity. And yes, they are hiding at the back of the tank behind the plants.

i have 2 and they seem to swim about fine very greedy lol always 1st when food appears never seen mine hiding

I have two females and three males. They are always front and center playing with each other. Never hiding. They like to follow the pleco as he eats his algae wafer and eat the floating particles.

Are they still hiding?

Do they look like they are scared or just hanging out in the back?

I have found with my Black Phantoms that the males like to have small territories and this generally be a group of plants, section of wood or stone. Perhaps this is what they are doing?
