Hey,

Saw Black Neons in my LFS Today - The worrying thing was that they all had red streaks on there bellies and Gills.

Is this a Bad Thing, Also the Black Line looked Painted on.

Don't get them sure it was black noens, red streak on belly is septicemia, and red gills can indicate high nitrites, or gill flukes.

Thanks - I Did not think they looked Healthy.

He Is Holding some Nice 3 Lined Pencil Fish For me.

you wan't to tell the lfs and say them fish are ill what are you going to do about it.

The first thing to establish is the species. What you describe doesn't sound particulaly like a Black Neon. Many Nannostomus species could be said to resemble Black Neons and have quite normal red striping on the abdomen etc.

An assumption of serious disease is often premature.

the Black Line Was Fuzzy and they had a Sky Blue Line

That's not a black neon tetra then.

Does the dark line continue through the caudal fin, (tail), and even extend into a filament trailing behind the caudal? A number of Emporer Tetra species have sooty dark stripes with a blue line above.

You know, they Could Be Emporer "DOH", Forgot about them.

I'll Have Another Look @ Lunch.

The Tank was empty @ Lunch - So they Must Have Died.

>>> So they Must Have Died.

I piece of advice is as valid now as it has ever been - don't jump to conclusions!

They could have been a really good buy/rare species that somebody saw, recognised and bought the lot, I've done that before..

I'm not saying that is the case, but your description never did sound like Black Neons.
