Black Neon Tetra Pregnant Or Ill?

Got 5 black neon tetras about a week ago, one was noticeably larger than the others but i didnt think anything of it. a few days later i was positive it was going to lay eggs because its belly is really big and quite lumpy if that makes sense?? anyway now im not so sure because it seems as though the other fish are getting fatter too. I dont know if thats just me being paranoid or if they have some kind of disease. They all seem fine though..all swimming well and looking fine etc.. only two of them havent seemed to have grown..could they be the males? please help! x

The female Tetra is often much bigger than the male--sometimes 2X larger. Whether they are going to lay eggs or not is a whole other thing.

Do you have clear pictures of what concerns you?

Just continue to keep a close watch. If there is sickness you will see behavior changes--other than the little guys chasing each other and the big gals around. A sick fish will often hang near the surface, or lay on the bottom, lose color, stay off by itself, become lethargic, stop eating.

It sounds so far like they are just maturing into their gender differences.

Actually I am not sure about the lumpy thing.
