Black Mystery Snails

How quickly do these reproduce? I recently got one free because it accidentally got in my bag when buying fish. Since then it has gotten much larger and I've seen 2 around the size he was when I got him. So what do they're eggs look like? I know they're above water but are they white? And how quickly will they reproduce?

The one is persistent on reaching the top of the tank. I think it wants to lay eggs. Are the eggs white? I recently found multiple white things but they may be something else. Also how do I kill the eggs if I see them? Will knocking them off the glass work?

Depending what kind of snail it is.
Pond snails lay clusters of small White eggs on the glasss, I just knock them off & the fish eat them

ummmm.... this isnt true with these types of snails they lay small pink clusters of eggs above the water line. they are not like pond snails and will not reproduce quickly, if you over feed their tank. and they are not asexual so they need a male and female to produce eggs

Without a pic it's impossible to identify what snails they are.
I assumed they were pond snails as those are usually the ones that sneak in on plants, & he said he'd seen White eggs

No they're black mysteries. The white things I'm not sure if they were eggs but I don't think so. I think the white things came on the plants and I just didn't remove them all.

Sounds like a apple snail. That's the trouble with having multiple names for livestock.
If its an apple snail then they can reproduce but not unless it was with another one prior to it coming home with you. Even then it still might not breed as the other may have been the same sex.
They will lay either pink or white eggs, I think the black ones lay pink, you will know it if you see it, its quite unusual. They aren't pests and people will buy them. I doubt that its trying to lay eggs, they spend their day going up and down the glass.

Apple snails or mystery snails will go to the water line to lay eggs, if they spend all there time there its a good indication they don't like the water condition(could be lack of calcium)

here is picture of their eggs, the female can hold sperm for up to 3 months so you can still get baby's with only snail, also apples/mystery snails are not Hermaphrodite's

you cant stop laying, if you do she die in the end, all you need to is grab a butter knife scrape off the eggs pop them in a sandwich and then leave in the freezer for 2 days then you can safely put them in the bin.
