I know goldfish are coldwater fish, but I couldn't help but to buy him from the LFS. He was in a tank with a few larger african cichlids and was getting shred apart. So all I could do was put him in my 120 gallon. He was kept in a tropical tank before and was born in a tropical tank so would this have any effect? Can he/she survive in a tropical tank? What EXACTLY are the effects of them living in warmer waters. The temp in my 120 gallon stays at around 72-75 so it isn't THAT warm. He/she seems to be loving the tank and swims everywhere! If I had to, I could buy a separate 30 gallon for him/her if it is THAT serious to his/her health.

BTW how do you sex goldies? Here is some pics of him/her below:

Also he/she is in the 120 gallon with the fish listed in my signature. I heard she/he will eat the tetras and the rasbora and even the cories and female betta! I know he/she is always hungry but I keep her very well fed. Is this true? :/

HI :)
firstly he looks like he has white spot :/ (It could be air bubles but I doubt it)

all goldfishes slime coat have toxins that are
deadly to most tropical fish.
And keeping him in tropical water speeds up the metabloisum and therefor increases the amount of ammonia he will produce.

Hmm...maybe I will be able to buy a new 30 gallon soon for him/her.

I think that is just sand as he started sucking up the sand as soon as I put him in. He/she doesn't have that anymore.
