Please help me ... my beautiful black moor is turning a goldy brown colour he has nearly lost all his black colouring.

I feed him the Terafin pellets and about once a week i feed him some green peas . I was told only to feed every couple of days and i have been doing this.

I also do a 30% water change about every 2/3 days , both decholrinating and water neutralising.

Is there something wrong with him or is this natural for him to change colour.

i keep them away for strong light and any heat . He has hiding places and a big plant to hid in i cant think what could be wrong .

Please help me :-( ..thanks

i have also noticed that my two other pearl scales have white stuff on the end of their fins. It looks abit like fluff .

Black is an unstable colour in goldfish so its natural for them to go brassy then maybe even turn gold. You never know he maight go half black and half gold.
As for the other two, i dont know. What size of tank, filtration, and can you get a pic?
Does the threads have forked tails, any scratching or any extra sliminess anywhere on the fish?

I have tried to get a pic onto the forum but it aint coming up . If you have a email address i can email them to you.

I also had a water test done today and it came back fine .

They do look kind of slimy ( black moor mainly ) but if you can imagin, its like snow flakes stuck on the ends of their fins . It makes the ends of their fins look wrinkley as if they have been nibbled. Sorry this aint the best discription but it is heard to explain.

Could it be fin root ???? or a lack of a mineral ???
