I've got a black moor who seems to have periods of just floating and not moving. So much so that one of my students (I teach prekindergarten) nearly cried today when she notice that Amy had stopped swimming. I was a bit worried myself at the time but I distracted the child and when I looked over 15 minutes later Amy was swimming again. Is this normal?
Sorry if this is in the wrong place, I'm not all to familiar with this kind of communication. I'm just worried about our class fish and wanted answers from people who new more about fish than the apparent simpleton that works at the pet store.
20 gal tank
3 gold fish - 1 black moor, 2 other fancy I think
The last time I had the water tested the lady at the pet store said it was great.
I did have a power outage over the weekend that had the filter down for almost 3 days, I'll have the water tested again tomorrow.
I check the filter every week when I clean the tank and trade out 25% of the water. If its running over the filter, I change the filter.
I'm not sure what else to say.
I don't know about dechlorinating. I use the stuff the pet store told me to use it the tap water before I do water changes.
