I brought home my BGKF and I now noticed he has a slight pink where he has white areas. Doesn't seem anything serious, but wondering if anyone seen this before. He is eating normaly and is very active.

its normal, the white isnt always pure white, its an off white usually when they mature.

Was he like this when you bought him? How long have you had him? How long did you acclimatise him? Size?

Personally Ive never found pink to be a 'normal' colour for a BGKF.

Nah, he just brought the fish home tonight from our shop, its been an off white color since we've had him. It's not pink, open your eyes. ehh. He is just noticing for the first time since he has him at home.

I typically check out the bgk's when I walk through any fish store and have never seen pink or red on one. They usually have white or yellow markings only. But I'm no expert!

Well come to find out that the tail will turn pink or dark pink when it is nipped at by other tank mates. The pink is from the cartilage showing. This takes about 2 weeks to heal to almost a month depending on how bad it is nipped.
