Black Ghost Knife habits

Does anyone else have a ghost knife that actually appears to lay down and sleep. Min goes into his cave and just lays on one side during the day time, but if i tap the glass he gets up and swims, im not sure if he is sick, or just sleeping kinda has me worried, any feedback would be appreciated, thanks.

lol Mine either sleeps upside down in one of the big plants or rests its head on the plant on the other side of the tank.

Do you know how many times I have had to stop my husband from flushing this fish that he thought was deceased?

This is common for them to take "naps" cause it takes so much energy to use that one fin that they need many rests. I would too if I had only one mode of transportation that was cool looking too

THis is sooooooo common amongst knife fish! They do tend to switch off for periods of time, but it is mostly the BGK which rest in odd postions, not surprising really when you watch how active they can be!

Bgk's are nocturnal. they sleep during the day and hunt at night for their food. Its good to feed them b4 u turn the lights off.
