Hi,

I'm new to the forum. I have a black ghost knife fish which I have had for about 2 months. I was just wondering how sensitive to water changes they are as my nitrate levels are getting a bit high. He is in a 2'x1'x1' tank at the moment I have been doing water changes of about 1 gallon a week is this adequate? Any advise would be gratefully recieved.

Thanks

Richard

Hi,

I've kept these before, terrific fish, and never found them to be worried by big water changes (I change 50% weekly on my planted tanks)
However, I take it you're aware these fish can hit 12" easily in about 9 months to a year, and often go bigger than 12". You're gonna need a much bigger tank pretty soon.

Thanks for the info, yes I was aware that they grow quite long wasn't aware that quickely though. Better think about a bigger tank for Dave.

Cheers.
