Ok, I know this is going to sound bad, but i have noticed with some of my fish that their eyes will turn almost completely black, but it will go back to normal again.

this morning i saw one like that (she's in a breeding cage) and when i tapped the glass they turned normal instantly.

Is this a bad sign or does this happen when they sleep or something.

She's been eating fine and she's been acting fine so i don't know what it could be (she is also pregnant and ready to give birth soon)

hah, my fish do the same thing

since im a newb i first got worried that the water might be bad and effecting there eyes...but so far they seem ok so im pretty sure its just like there retners get bigger and smaller like ours do in different light conditions

Im not sure but i dont think there is anything wrong

also i hope it isnt on pregnant fish because ive seen my male guppy have eyes like that a few times :/

My bf said that his preggy female does that.

I went to the fish store today and talked to them.. He said that it's like ours, they go big and small..

She seems to be fine and that's all that's important

If anyone knows something different then please let me know.

I think your fish are fine.

A sign of healthy fish are clear, attentive eyes. If the fish have clouded eyes, that is an indication of a sick fish, or sometimes an older one that is going blind.

:D
