Fish Crazy
Hi,
I am in the process of setting up a custom marine nano aquarium. I bought a stock glass fish tank, from the LFS, but I think it looks kind of tatty. Particularly around where the silicone seal is. Also it has the two pieces of glass at the top to rest a drop tray or lid on, which I don't want as I'm using an arcadia luminaire and an open lid.
So two questions...
I see a lot of very attractive aquariums that have black edging (example: http
/valentine.blogware.com/fish/tank%20...tand%20web.jpg) and I wonder, is there a material that can do this easily without it turning into a disaster? =) Any ideas anyone?
I have tried with a stanley knife blade to peel away the silicone that is attaching the two glass shelves for putting a lid on the tank but 1) it's incredibly dificult, 2) im worried that i may remove them and find that there's marks, or I'm unable to completely remove the silicone and it looks worse, or I scratch the glass.... so I just left it in the end. Has anyone done anything like this... any advice?
Best Regards,
L
