My beautiful 9" gibby plec, Kirby...is dead.

I went to clean the tank, and when I removed the lid, I saw that he had wedged himself into the exterior filter somehow. His body was caught on a small piece of plastic inside the filter preventing him from wriggling free. He must have suffocated. I tried my best to try to revive him, for any chance that he may still have had a chance, but it was too late. He must have been in there all day while I was at work.

I have not felt this horrible in a long time. Kirby was my favorite fish, and now he's gone.

Poor little bugger...was a very nice fish, too. Too bad for the loss, although I'm sure he led a very fulfilling life.

This website is so cool, we all come together over our losses. That's great, but still we wish it didn't happen.

Thanks everyone. I'm doing better today, but I'm not going to get another plec for that tank for a while...I've decided to let the memory of Kirby live on for a bit longer. Then who knows...maybe I'll get another gibby and start over.
