My tank is 48x18x13. I would like to get a few Black angels or a compatable mix of angels. Is it possible with this size tank? The tank contains
4 zebra danios
6 Platies
3 Clown Loaches( they are about 2 inches each)
I am going to get a bristlenose too.

Let me know what you guys think. Thanks

i duno bout the danios..they should be big. cuz if they the long flowing fin typre theyll get nipped at

ok I was thinking let me revamp the question alittle. How many angels can live together peacefully in a 50g 48x18x13 tank? I will research the danios thanks.

agree with bean. if you want a more agressive, fast based danio get the giant danios

the tank isn't quite high enough for angel, they get quite tall, and a tank 18" and taller is strongly reccomended

Sorry if I am confused I guess I put the dimensions wrong the tank is
48 Length
18 Height
13 wide
I am saying this cuz of doggfather's reply of 18 or higher I don't know if I made it seem as if the tank was 13.
Or perhaps you knew that the tank is 18 and that is just the bare minimum for Angels so it's not a good idea? Sorry for my confusion

sorry bout that. I should have followed that formula. Not to good at maths and not thinking at the time. But thanks for the lessn cuz now I wont make that mistake again  . So with the measurmeants in the right place with 18 inch height what am I looking at for angel capacity?

I believe they should have roughly 70L per fish, as regards to how many I would introduce 3 that way when one of them becomes dominant as it will, it has 2 others to take it out on rather than just 1! So they will not be as stressed.

By the way get them as small as you can so they get chance to grow around each other as they get older. :)

So here is my situation. THe youngets Angels I have seen are at Wal-Mart. Should I just skip those and get the next oldest from another store? The fish do look healthy ant the Wal-Mart and the water is always nice and clean. What has your experience been?

I'm from the Uk so I have never bought from wallmart as we dont have such a thing, however as long as the fish look healthy and there are no problems with the tank I dont see a problem.

You could ask to see them fed whilst you watch to make sure there eating fine before you buy them, also watch them for a while and make sure there not flicking which would indicate stress and also look out for other common problems or diseases. Never buy fish from a tank that has sick fish in it even if the fish you are interested in look fine.
