shes about 4 years old now, we picked her up at a shelter when she was 1 year old

I have to really watch her weight during the winter months because I am not able to get her out as much as I would like but she is about 45-50 lbs

Oh. She's more of a medium size puppy dog. Was just curious. :good: We've never had hounds until now. Had a german shorthair dog, and golden retriever/samoyed mix and now the shelty/retriever mix + the new Plott hound. I've seen a few pics of Plotts at 70-80 lbs.

You know you haven't mentioned her name yet :)

yeah she is a mix breed as well, she has some lab in her but mostly black and tan coon hound. the shelter named her reese so for ease of training we kept the name.

Plot hounds are bigger than black and tans as they are used to hunt bigger game namely bear, wild boar, and cougar. so 60+ pounds wouldn't surprise me.

thats because its been unusally warm here the last few days today was 44 F which during Feb it isn't unusal for us to see - 20 F
