Hiya, I need some help figuring out what to get my father for his 61st birthday. I know it should probably be easy but I'm just not the best at coming up with gifts.
It's also a little difficult since he's not materialistic at all.

I realize that maybe this isn't the best place to ask for such advice, but I know there are a few dads around here that could possibly give me some ideas!

Some ideas I've had so far:
  • New bathroom theme set - Currently "Paris"

Think he might like something a bit less girly.
  • New bedroom set - Currently neutral, green with leaves, but it is an old set.
  • Sturdier bird feeder - This is for hummingbirds, the last one broke after not too long, and he picked up another one of the same kind..
  • Cat tree - He loves our cats, and has been wanting a better tree for them than the current small one we have. They're just so expensive :C
  • Shirt(s) - Can never have too many shirts, especially if they have funny slogans. One he got recently is "C.S.I Can't Stand Idiots"
  • Patio Umbrella - Ours fell down and broke during a bad storm a year or so ago, thought maybe a new one would be nice so he can sit in the shade when he walks our cats
  • Model Helicopter - Dad worked on helicopters when he was in the army, while we were in a store the other day he saw a model kit for one that he said was not the exact same but close to the kinds he had worked on, so maybe he would like that?
  • Food - Take him to a restaurant, but this one is a bit iffy because I know he will order the cheapest thing

I need to get something by the 24th of this month. I know it's really late and should've gotten a gift already, but it sort of snuck up on me!

While I'd love to spend tons of money on his gift, I unfortunately do not have a job right now, so my fiance is paying. The most I can see him allowing me to spend would be ~150$, so please keep that in mind with suggestions

Thank you so very much.

Outing the things you listed I like 4 of them above the others:
  • Cat tree
  • bird feeder
  • Umbrella
  • Model Helicopter

I think the safest bet out of those is the cat tree. He has already shown interest in upgrading his tree and will no doubt appreciate not having to pay for one himself. :)

I like this one a lot too, but they are so expensive. Hopefully I can find a decent one for ~$150..actually my fiance told me the budget was $50 but I'm hoping I can get him to do more :p
If anyone knows of any good places with low prices for cat trees let me know!
Also more ideas are appreciated :)

is he into sports or any bands or plays or anything? I know my family does a lot with tickets and they are always a great gift because each time is a different experience! Like last christmas we got my grandparents tickets to tour Lambeau Field and they thought it was the coolest present ever lol the year before that we got them two nights at a nice hotel in a tourist spot in Wisconsin called Door County. Maybe something like that?

He's not interested in sorts or plays. He likes country music, but he is not into travelling somewhere and standing around to watch them play when he can just listen at home.
I could buy him a CD I suppose but I wouldn't know what to buy him :/ He already has any CDs he wants, I'd think. I know we have lots. Same with movies

My fiance has agreed to a cat tree although we won't be able to get it for him on time.
I think we're going to take him to a buffet on his birthday and then get the cat tree when we can. I also talked to my brother and he came up with the idea of he'd buy a new recliner for him and it'd be considered from all of us kids.

Thank you for the responses by the way :)
