how often should i feed my ornate birchir!?

Every day when small (under 12") and then twice a week after that.

cheers he's exactly 12' at the mo and being fed a cube of beefheart every day when do you think i should start to cut back on his feeding? he still eats it all at the moment.

First i would stop feeding beefheart except as a occassional treat, mammalian proteins are not particularly good for fish and are difficult for them to digest.

I feed my 18" ornate on mussels and small frozen fish which it eats 3 or 4 of each time its fed.

Our 14" Ornate loves sprats bought from the fishmonger.
He eats one six inch sprat every third day plus snacks of live locusts, live crickets, or live jumbo bloodworm once or twice a week.
