I'm taking a trip down there today and I'll take lots of pictures and post em for u guys :D . If you have any special requests as far as pictures goes I'll try to accomodate you. Try to post before noon Pacific Time.

Pics can be found in this first post, and in a few posts down. It's a limit of about 40 pics per post, fyi.

EDIT: Let it be known that I am not a professional photographer, lol   .

SuperSkimmer001-2.jpg

Just the "touching" tide pools they have out behind the aquarium. Has various fish, anemone's, lobsters and an octopus.

SuperSkimmer002-2.jpg

A closer pic of part of the tidepools w/ some fishies.

SuperSkimmer003-2.jpg

Some anemone's

SuperSkimmer004-1.jpg

Thats a pic of the coast from the aquarium. The point you see is right where La Jolla cove is, fantastic snorkeling/diving.

SuperSkimmer005-1.jpg

Need I say more?

SuperSkimmer006-1.jpg

Sea Cucumber? I can't recall what its called.

SuperSkimmer007-1.jpg

SuperSkimmer008.jpg

Just some sea stars in the "tide pools"

SuperSkimmer009.jpg

Another pic of a nem... or so I thought until that decorator crab started crawling on my hand as i went to touch the nem and I nearly jumped 6 feet backward.

SuperSkimmer011.jpg

Another of the decorator crab. Oh that person you see in the water is my evil twin :shifty: , I call him Werd.

SuperSkimmer010.jpg

Some kind of sea urchin :p

----Here comes some fun stuff!----

SuperSkimmer014.jpg

Just some rocks... or is that a fish right there? :fun:

SuperSkimmer015.jpg

Not much to say about this guy, I believe the pink says it all. It's eyes were like mirrors... It was strange

SuperSkimmer016.jpg

I believe that was a "pregnant" male seahorse.

SuperSkimmer018.jpg

A pic of a different seahorse. I like this one.

SuperSkimmer019.jpg

That was some interesting sand :shifty:

SuperSkimmer020.jpg

In case you didn't get the last one, this one is easier.

SuperSkimmer022.jpg

I guess it didn't like me :/

SuperSkimmer023.jpg

All I can say is... WOW Labeled as "Leafy Sea Dragons" I didn't get the scientific name, sorry.

SuperSkimmer024.jpg

More to come!

SuperSkimmer025.jpg

SuperSkimmer026.jpg

SuperSkimmer028.jpg

Thats the last of those. They are so beautiful.

I'm going to post those for now so you guys can look while I post more!

SuperSkimmer031.jpg

Giant sun seastar or summin like that. It was atleast... 4-5 feet from tip to tip

SuperSkimmer034.jpg

Tank with lots of nems.

SuperSkimmer036.jpg

Close up of one of them

SuperSkimmer038.jpg

SuperSkimmer039.jpg

The octopus was out and about. Had never seen that before.

ooh ooh lionfish are my favourites!! Soooooo beautiful. Hope you have a good time. My husband and I have yearly membership to our local aquarium and go every few days (yes we really are that nutty about fish).

Is a great way to learn about different species and get ideas :D

I agree, I'm meeting my highschool marine biology teacher down there so I'm hoping to learn alot. I'm kindof sad right now because I just starting my study in kinesiology for college, but part of me wants to do marine biology.

I know the feeling...I did Msc health science. Had to pass the marine biology buildings every day :(

Oh well am still young..maybe when my daughter is a bit older I'll go back and do marine biology :hey:

Currenlty uploading the pics to photobucket.com and I'm just wondering if there is any limit you guys on posting pictures in a thread for whatever reason. I've got around 113 I'd like to post

I'm sure there's a number of pics per post limit but I've never reached it ;).

Neither have I. Since post length is based on text and "code text", I think it would be extremely diifcult to have a post that has too many words, let alone pictures, whose codes only take up 1-2 lines of text. :S

SuperSkimmer042.jpg

SuperSkimmer047.jpg

SuperSkimmer048.jpg

Those stuck out at me because there was recently a post on how some guy found one in his prawns or something?

SuperSkimmer050.jpg

Not sure what that is, but I had to laugh at it. I'm not sure why though :p

SuperSkimmer056.jpg

Big lobster, it just sat there. You didn't miss much

SuperSkimmer057.jpg

You lookin at me?

SuperSkimmer058.jpg

Who? Me?

SuperSkimmer059.jpg

Upsidedown jelly's, or so they were labeled. Wouldn't that make them polyps? (They weren't rooted to anything so maybe not?)

SuperSkimmer062.jpg

This pic is basically a "snippet" of La Jolla cove, and thats pretty much what its like when ur snorkeling there.

SuperSkimmer063.jpg

California State Fish!

SuperSkimmer064.jpg

SuperSkimmer065.jpg

Uh... Leapord Shark?

SuperSkimmer066.jpg

Hmm... No comment

SuperSkimmer068.jpg

SuperSkimmer069.jpg

I found the tank to be visually attractive, and it seems like the goby is using the sea cucumber thingy for protection :p

SuperSkimmer073.jpg

This is the kelp forest tank.

SuperSkimmer074.jpg

Just a big grouper.

SuperSkimmer075.jpg

Colorful guys.

SuperSkimmer092.jpg

Baby Shark, maybe 4 inches.

SuperSkimmer093.jpg

Shark egg, if you look close you can see the outline of the baby shark. It was squirming around when I saw it.

SuperSkimmer094.jpg

Some kind of hybrid fish... said it was the first time it was successfully(sp) bred. It seemed picture worthy

SuperSkimmer096.jpg

Funny Nudibranch

SuperSkimmer098.jpg

One of their most stunning tanks IMO

SuperSkimmer099.jpg

SuperSkimmer100.jpg

SuperSkimmer102.jpg

SuperSkimmer137.jpg

Wolf Eel

Nice shots of the Garibaldi Damsel. My LFS has one that I love

Cool pics, some of these r very common to me since I work at Aquarium of the Pacific in Long Beach. The ones of the leafy sea dragons, and the weedy sea dragons. we're the only aquarium who has successfully breed weedy sea dragons :). its pretty cool fact. the wolf eel is amazing, always liked those guys. the coolest guy at our aquarium right now is our bowmouth guitarfish, he's insane.
