i am going to buy 3 cupids today. the shop only has 3 but if i want to get soem more in a month or two could i add say 2 or 3 wavrini's?

would they get on ok?

I think it is one of those typical cichlid things, you won't know until you try. Just for info, I have 5 cupids together and they are all male. (Apparantly hard to find females). There is not much written about them but was told they would be skittish and aggressive. Mine are neither. There is a minor amount of chasing between the 3 bigger males (2 biggest about 3 inches now) and they are always out and about. Not skittish at all.

I'm no expert but I would think it has a high likely hood of working.

It would be fine - tank size and tank mates permitting. Cupido and Waverni are very very closely related and are only distinguished by the placement of the eye spot on the lateral line one is on the line and the other is above the line.

The only bad part would be the fact they could hybridise but again the species are so similar not many would ever notice.

If it were me I would try to stick to one species simply to keep any blood lines pure.
